High-purity quartz sand production process

Quartz stone is a non-metallic mineral. It is a hard, wear-resistant, chemically stable silicate mineral whose main mineral component is SiO2. The color of quartz sand is milky white, colorless and translucent, and Mohs hardness is 7.

1. Dressing
High-purity quartz sand is generally made of silica, quartzite or natural crystal stone. The raw materials are manually crushed, sorted and arranged, and placed in the silo.

2. Broken
Generally, the jaw crusher, the impact crusher and the sand making machine are used for the crushing operation. The quartz rock is continuously and evenly fed into the jaw crusher by the vibrating feeder for rough breaking, and the coarsely broken quartz rock belt conveyor It is sent to the sand making machine for fine crushing.
The jaw crusher is mainly used for the coarse crushing of quartzite. The impact crusher is used for fine crushing. The sand making machine plays the role of fine crushing and shaping in the production process of high-purity quartz sand. It is the most ideal high-purity quartz sand. Broken equipment.

3. Screening
Use a vibrating sieve to separate the qualified sandstone. The quartz sand with a particle size of 1mm or less is sent to the sand washing machine to clean the stone powder and dust. The quartz sand of 6mm or more is sent back to the crushing system, and the impact crusher or sand making is carried out. The machine is re-broken, and the screening cleaning system and the crushing system together form a tight, ingenious closed circuit cycle.

4. Cleaning
The qualified sand and gravel shall be put into the cleaning tank according to the process standard and decontaminated with clean water to wash away the impurities attached to the surface of the ore. The operator must wear clean protective water boots during cleaning.

5. Milling
The quartz sand is ground for demineralization to produce high-purity quartz powder.

6. Remove Impurities
(1) Magnetic separation
By using the magnetic differences of various ores or materials, the selection of the magnetic force can remove the iron-based ferromagnetic substances contained in the quartz sand, and can also remove the weak magnetic substances.
(2) Acid leaching
Soaking for 6 days with a mixture of mixed acids of HCl and HF, mainly to remove acid-soluble metal oxides and some silicate minerals. Acid leaching is one of the important processes in the purification process of high-purity quartz sand. Whether it is to prepare quartz glass for electric light source or quartz material for photovoltaic and semiconductor devices, acid leaching must be used.
(3) Flotation
According to the difference of physical and chemical properties of mineral particles, the separation of mineral floatation is carried out. The main function of flotation is to remove mica, feldspar and iron-bearing mineral impurities in quartz sand.
(4) Re-election
Mica content can be effectively reduced by using a shaker with appropriate water flow re-election.

7. Drying and Packaging
The high-purity quartz sand after the removal is dried by a dryer and then packaged into a finished product.
