The definition and composition of quartz stone

Quartz stone is a new type of stone which is made of 90% quartz sand and 10% resin mixed in a high pressure under vacuum and solidified at a high temperature. It is a non-radioactive, recyclable environmentally friendly, green new building materials and decorative materials. Its main body is quartz sand, accounting for about 90%, and resin, pigment and other auxiliary materials account for about 10%.

1) Resin content (including all liquid excipients) 7-12%. Less than 7% of toughness is insufficient, easy to break; more than 12% is easy to deform.
2) It must be formed under high pressure in a vacuum state. Low-pressure forming or cast forming, quartz stone sheet has insufficient compactness, easy to bleed and easy to be dirty.
3) Curing and setting at high temperature.
4) The hardness of quartz stone plates must be provided by quartz sand. The glass is not quartz, and the proportion (mass percentage) of glass particles in the quartz stone plate must be below 20%.

Resin: Resin is a quartz stone matrix material that acts as a bonding agent in quartz stone sheets and provides toughness to quartz stone sheets. There are two main types of resins used in quartz stone: one is an unsaturated polyester resin, and the other is an acrylic resin (acrylic resin).

1) Unsaturated polyester resin----Different formulas are determined according to different requirements; different formulations have different properties of resin. The resin on the market is a general-purpose resin. Unless you have special requirements and engineers know the resin well.

2) General classification of unsaturated polyester resins:
(A) From saturated dibasic acid: o-phenyl resin and meta-phenyl resin. The general-purpose resin is 100% o-phenyl resin, the so-called meta-phenyl resin does not have 100% excluding o-benzene, and the heat-resistant resin is mostly m-phenylene resin.
(B) From diol: general purpose resin and special resin. General-purpose resin --- propylene glycol, ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol three or one or two kinds of reaction with o-benzene; special resin --- used alcohols are more complex, such as neopentyl glycol.
(C) From the monomer: general-purpose resin - monomer 100% with styrene; special resin - more complex. The so-called composite acrylic resin on the market is to add less than 10% methyl methacrylate (MMA) to the general resin instead of part of styrene, which is not acrylic.

3) Acrylic resin (acrylic resin) - a resin such as plexiglass or artificial teeth. Quartz stone with special requirements is used. Acrylic resins are available in two manufacturing angles: dissolving acrylic resins and prepolymerized acrylic resins. Generally, the prepolymerized type is better than the dissolved type.

Filler: The main component of quartz stone filler is silica, including: quartz stone, quartz powder, foundry sand, broken glass, shell, sea sand. Its main functions are: one is the filling volume; the second is to enhance the stone texture of the quartz stone; the third is to enhance the mechanical properties of the quartz stone; the fourth is to act as a flame retardant.
Pigment: The role of pigment in quartz stone is to match the color of the flower to make it colorful. In theory, any color can be blended through various pigments.
Curing agent: Curing agent is an indispensable additive for quartz stone production. Good quartz stone is formed by high temperature curing.

Other additives: Resin is a polymer polymer material. Adding some additives can improve its process performance, improve production efficiency, improve quartz stone performance and extend service time.
